Kids are curious. Well, even adults for that matter. People are just naturally curious about the world around them. Children, are like sponges that soak up information. That is why I really love the book by Louie Giglio called How Great Is Our God with 100 devotions about God and God's Science behind creation. This book is OUTSTANDING! Even as an adult I enjoyed reading this book and seeing the scientific breakdown of God's creations. As a veteran home school mom I would say any parent needs to get this for their children or grandchildren to ignite their faith and love of learning. It will tie in key verses with amazing scientific facts, and activities to encourage exploration and a love of learning.
Let me tell you more and give you a chance to win a copy!

Having mentors and people to look up to are great. But we have an epidemic in our society to stand out so much that we are actually following the crowd or that mentor to the letter rather than our creator, doing what they do, saying what they say and not really thinking for yourself in order to be accepted. Now I am not saying that is you or that mentors or heroes are bad, but I will admit I have been in that trap before. It is great to share with children the message of being a unique individual and the FREEDOM and JOY that brings.
In the book Only You Can Be You is absolutely perfect to discuss what makes you different and what makes you great with kids!
In their first picture book, bestselling author Sally Clarkson and her son Nathan encourage children on the journey to discovering their strengths. Mother and son duo draw on themes from their first book, Different, the emotive story of Nathan's experiences growing up with mental illness and learning disabilities and Sally's journey to loving him unconditionally. With the powerful truth that what makes you different makes you great, Only You Can Be You will help children embrace their differences and celebrate the differences in others.
The irresistible rhymes paired with Tim Warnes's whimsical illustrations encourage your children with the reassurance they're looking for in their own uniqueness. Whether they are quiet or artistic, funny or boisterous, your children will love this heartwarming read that assures them that they're wonderful exactly as they are.
This book is Buster Bear approved. Only You Can Be You is irresistible in a much needed message and colorful pictures that draw you in. Children will enjoy exploring this book by Sally Clarkson. I teach ESL part time and plan on sharing with all of the kids! You can too by entering to win a copy or buying.

Point Two. Take the day off. Literally. God designed the Sabbath rest as an important principal to follow as one of the ten commandments and He meant it!
Take a moment if you can to watch this video and see if you can relate?
Why do we as a society in this fast paced world feel like if we are not always busy we are not "something." Why as a society do we ignore the commandment of God to rest one day a week? Why even when we try to rest are we still connected on the phone to the business of life? And I mean rest from work, rest for major responsibilities, rest from yes,,, YOUR PHONE. Put it down. You survived back in 1990 when you did not have one. Really rest even from social media.
With that said I highly recommend the book I am reading this month in the FaithWords Book Club called Take the Day Off. Ladies, it has been amazing so far for me. It has actually been life changing and challenging all at the same time. It even has affected my phone usage for the better. Rest your mind, body, and spirit and focus on God’s principles for rest with this helpful guide from bestselling author Robert Morris. Relax off the phone unplugged from life and simply read. This simple tip has helped me gain more balance back.
In Take the Day Off, Pastor Morris explains why rest is central to your wellbeing, how to do it, and how helpful it can be. You will be inspired to experience true rest and make it a priority in the rhythm of your weekly schedule. Don’t wait and delay God’s blessings in your life. As we look around we can not help but wonder in these troubled times if it is the end of days. Wallace Henley takes an intensive look into the Welsh Revival of 1904 giving us insight of what to expect in the last great revival before Jesus returning. I say for myself, I want to be ready for his arrival what about you? In reading every page I can not help but feel I am in a personal revival, which is necessary and life changing for all believers as we get energized as we allow the Holy Spirit to submerge us in his will and movement. It reminds me of the parable of the ten virgins found in Matthew 25 also to take each day seriously and be ready.
The Parable of the Ten Virgins 25 “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
6 “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’
7 “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’
9 “‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’
10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.
11 “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’
12 “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’
13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.
And so it will be with us and our Lord!
This book to me is one more tool to get ready to be prepared for our Kings arrival.
We will learn:
I recently read Curt Landry's Reclaiming Our Forgotten Heritage. It is about how understanding the Jewish roots of Christianity can transform your faith.
This book dives deep into to the topic of heritage and how important it is in the life of a believer and to the kingdom of God. Specifically it points us to all believers in Jesus, our heritage that has throughout history been stripped from us. Curt proves through scripture the evidence of this history and the benefits of returning to our original heritage. When you truly understand taking hold of all God has for us for example in the divine appointments at the Holy days of God that history has stripped from the modern day Christian you will see and bless the heart of God on a whole new level experiencing more of his shalom and wholeness in your life.
The early church did not look like what today's church looks like. Even the modern calendar is not aligned to Gods original one. This book opened my eyes to so much and reaffirmed to me the importance of getting back to our original heritage and walking forward in all God has for me. I do not want to miss a thing with him!
If you are truly interested in finding out more about this heritage for yourself I highly recommend this book by Curt Landry!
Sid Roth, Host of "It's Supernatural," says...
"Is it possible to take New Testament and denude the Jewish culture and get a full revelation? Of course not. But many Christians go their whole lives without all the pieces of the puzzle. My friend, Curt Landry, shows how the identity theft took place and fills in the missing pieces. Fall in love with Jesus all over again."
This is a book that will remain a part of my library forever. I am on a mission to share with others the importance of it's message. Gods message to his people.
Jesus love transends lines and what we think love and generosity should be. This book ignites the heart of a true follower of Jesus to get down in the unknown forgetten heart of a broken person and love like he loves. With practical ideas to follow from real life stories, this book will help you go the next level.
Not only does this life changing book share how to practically help those hurting around us but it also helps you move forwar in those times of your own personal set backs by reminding us, "God's overall goal is our transformation. He loves each of us right where we are- but he loves us too much to let us stay that way. Nothing we do would make him love us more, and nothing we do would make him love us less." So it teaches to get up and keep moving forward in those times.
As long as a person has breath God has not given up on them even if they have given up on themselves. I love the example Rob Cowles and Matt Roberts show us on how to live in the love of Jesus without fear of those broken people hurting us or messing up our own lives. They do not live in the fear of "them" and nor should you as a true Christ follower. It is remarkable how once changed by love and relationsjip the loving examples in this book whose stories went from broken to victory , they turn around to help those in the hurting places, helping bring hope to those who can not yet see it, is simply remarkale.
Compassion true compassion is at the heart of Jesus and is at the heart of this book. Real realtionships not surface ones are at the heart of Jesus type compassion. I highly recommed reading it if you want a fire lit under you to go serve mankind in a new refreshing needed way!
This book was amazing. I took it everywhere and couldn't put it down! I recommened anyone who follows the Lord to read this book. I gauratee it will show you a new way of looking at the broken people of this world in a way you never had before.
