If you are reading this then you clicked because you are struggling or know someone who is, with getting off the phone. Did you realize there is other fun interesting things to do off the phone? This is a real problem these days for so many. People are addicted to having the world at their finger tips. But if you are tired of the endless selfies and pictures of someones perfect Instagram life then I have some advice and help for you today in two good points!
Point one. Why not join a book club! I am serious. This is a great activity to get you OFF the phone and into a good book! It will encourage true rest and a way to unplug. I will recommend the one I am in below and it is free!
I highly recommend the FREE FaithWords Book Club, and the best part is you can be a part of this book club from anywhere!
ABOUT THE BOOK CLUB
The FaithWords Book Club is a private Facebook group that is only available to join upon request. We select a new book to discuss each season and we have had authors like Joyce Meyer, Victoria Osteen, T.D. Jakes, and more stop by to answer questions or say hello. We do exclusive giveaways in the group, share unseen videos from our authors, and let bloggers, influencers, and readers connect with one another, our authors, and our FaithWords publishing group.
For October and November we will be studying Take the Day Off by Pastor Robert Morris with special “guest visits” from other FaithWords authors as well!
Point Two. Take the day off. Literally. God designed the Sabbath rest as an important principal to follow as one of the ten commandments and He meant it!
Take a moment if you can to watch this video and see if you can relate?
Why do we as a society in this fast paced world feel like if we are not always busy we are not "something." Why as a society do we ignore the commandment of God to rest one day a week? Why even when we try to rest are we still connected on the phone to the business of life? And I mean rest from work, rest for major responsibilities, rest from yes,,, YOUR PHONE. Put it down. You survived back in 1990 when you did not have one. Really rest even from social media.
With that said I highly recommend the book I am reading this month in the FaithWords Book Club called Take the Day Off. Ladies, it has been amazing so far for me. It has actually been life changing and challenging all at the same time. It even has affected my phone usage for the better. Rest your mind, body, and spirit and focus on God’s principles for rest with this helpful guide from bestselling author Robert Morris. Relax off the phone unplugged from life and simply read. This simple tip has helped me gain more balance back.
In Take the Day Off, Pastor Morris explains why rest is central to your wellbeing, how to do it, and how helpful it can be. You will be inspired to experience true rest and make it a priority in the rhythm of your weekly schedule. Don’t wait and delay God’s blessings in your life. Start implementing the principle of rest in your life and you will see eternal benefits.

I was fortunate enough to get to watch the screener for Unashamed to present to you a review in partnership with Front Gate Media.
In this day we have so many cultural issues coming against the believers who walk in the faith of Jesus Christ. In unashamed Chonda speaks about her pain and triumphs openly. She also interviews others who have been attacked in their careers or was transformed and remade in the middle of them by Christ, who unashamedly shine for the Lord to the world. Encouraging us all on to do the same. Even if it makes you unpopular. In between the interviews we get to see Chonda doing what she does best, making your heart joyful with abundant laughter. Her message is stand strong in who he made you to be, unshamed. This world needs you and the person God is making you to shine His glory. Chonda said " I am unafraid to stand up just the way that I am and be all that God wants me to be."
Are you unashamed? Do not be ashamed of the gospel.
Luke 9:26 26 If anyone is ashamed of me and my message, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in his glory and in the glory of the Father and the holy angels.

Personal growth is so important. Do you have dreams and goals? Dreams should become goals. Goals should become reality. But this simply can not happen without a plan.
It is the start of a new year and so many do news resolutions. But so many fail. Because people wait till new years to start something new, to make a change. This is not good. If you have a goal you make the change now not later. You make reaching your goals a lifestyle. That is the very first start to having a plan. So are you ready to make this the best year yet? Below are some helpful growth ideas.
First step to having a person development plan is to think deeply and pray about what you want to accomplish this year and why. Listen do not rush and listen for the Lord to prompt you. Write down what comes to your mind. You must know your why and be passtionate about it. Other wise you will be aiming blinded and will not be effective.
Do not wait for motivation because it will never come to you on it's own. You must move and do and it will catch up.
Think through what it will take to get you to those goals you are setting. The best way to get to those goals is to set up a daily routine. The worlds most sucessful people have a daily routine. From morning to night. Having a daily routine will help you in so many ways not to mention it will build consistancy which is the very next point after goal setting.
Consistancy is so important. Consistent in the dictionary means acting or done in the same way over time, especially so as to be fair or accurate.
Routine = Consistancey = Effectiveness = Results
There are so many helpful tools to incorperate into our productive day once you have clarity to help us find productivity in that daily routine.
Time blocking is a way. With time blocking you say for example from 7- 7:30 am I will read my Bible. From 8-9 I will respond to emails. And within reason stick to it daily. If you do you will see the effective results in productivity when you set the routine.
Time batching once your in working day and out of the morning routine could look like this for example if you work from home. From 9 am till 12 pm on Tuesday I will work on the entire weeks blog writings. In the time batching you only focus on that task of writing for that day set and hours and do it EVERY week same why as much as you can. You do not worry about photos or comments or emails reply they go in a time batch of their own. From 1 pm to 2 you do photos for your blog for the week. Or if you are working outside of home with time batching you can say for example from 2-4 on Saturday I will do laundry. You do not worry about laundry the rest of the week.
Brain dumps before bed. These are so helpful in getting all your thoughts out on paper to see what must be done or to deal with emtions of the day. It is kind of a pre method to form your next days to do list too. I have a pen and paper at my bed side and as soon as I think of something I write down so I no longer worry if I will forget it the next day.
Plan a daily routine. Then, plan a weekly routine. In it include your weekly goals your monthly goals for the monthly.
Write your goals often during week so they are before your eyes. Make it part of your morning routine! It will help motivate yourself again and again to keep going for the goals.
Make time in your weekly routine for self care. You do not want to suffer burn out.
Remember the personal development plan all goes back to this........
Routine = Consistancey = Effectiveness = Results
So get started! I would write all your daily planning, weekly planning in a journal, calender or planner! Get one that motivates you!
It is time to have your best year yet! I am excited for what this new year will hold for you! All that you suceed at this coming year is all for his glory. May your year shine brillant as you partner with God. For all that we suceed at is to utimately shine glory to the Father.
20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
